Itinerary – Yagnob Valley Trek

The itinerary for the Yagnob Valley Trek is given below.

On this Day

Altitude: 2700m
Distance: 150 km
Duration: 4-5 hrs

After breakfast, we begin traveling through breathtaking landscapes till we arrive at Iskanderkul, where we will explore the following highlights: Iskanderkul Lake, waterfall, Snake Lake, and 5 springs (2 hours). Accommodation at the Saratoga Homestay (7 kilometers from Iskanderkul). A free hour to explore the village. Dinner and a night at the guesthouse.

Distance: 80 km
Duration: 3-4 hrs

We drove down from Iskanderkul and had a fantastic view of the area. In Margeb or Bedef, we encounter the local trekking team: folks with donkeys and camping gear. We stay overnight at Margeb or Bedef village.

Duration: 4 hrs

Together with our guide and hiking team, we hike for at least four hours to the first Yagnob village (Bedef). Camping in the meadow, near the village orchards. Tents are used for overnight stays.

This day begins with an easy walk along the Yagnob River, following the clear trail and going through three other settlements with a few bridges to cross. Stay overnight at the Yagnobian guesthouse in Pskan.

Duration: 4 hrs

On this day, we will get the opportunity to meet with indigenous people in Pskan and other nearby villages before continuing our journey after lunch. Camping near Qiansi Village. Tents are used for overnight stays.

Duration: 6 hrs

The trail widens and moves away from the river, with a few hops across side streams. The gradient continues gradually. Pass the Aylaq and a river on a widening site, then take the clear way to the Honi Pass (3,664m). Camp near the base of the pass. Tents are used for overnight stays.

Duration: 7-8 hrs

We follow the zigzag trail up to the pass. The pass begins as an elevation and then levels out. We keep one extra day here in case of an unanticipated scenario or if the clients simply want to take a break during the walk. After the town, you'll find a downhill route that leads to Rufigar, a rural settlement with a well-earned dinner and bed. Overnight in a homestay.

After breakfast at the Rufigar guesthouse, we load our belongings and begin our drive to Dushanbe. Arrive in Dushanbe and travel to the hotel. The tour ends with a transfer to the airport.

 

Why Register Early?

1. Early Bird Discount: The given prices for the holiday are limited-time discount offers and are subject to change. Service providers including (but not limited) to airlines and hotels increase prices in peak-season. Early reservations cost less than peak-season. 

2. Limited Flight Seats: Domestic flight seats to the Pamir and Himalayas are sold out way ahead of time because there are only two daily flights during peak season. Among other things, the deposit is used to book domestic flights for you in advance.

3. Pay Balance after arrival in Tajikistan: In these unusual times, we appreciate that paying the final balance for your trip may cause concern. Our policy is to only receive your final balance once you arrive in Tajikistan. The only payment before arrival is the deposit.

4. Deposit valid for 3 years: We understand the uncertainty surrounding the pandemic (Covid-19). As part of our relaxed booking conditions following Covid-19, deposits are valid for 2 years. 

6. Pay Minimum Deposit: The deposits for the holiday are also early-bird discounts and automatically change accordingly:

  • 1st October: USD 190
  • 1st November: USD 290
  • 1st January: USD 350
  • 15th February: USD 400
  • 1st March: USD 450
  • 1st May: USD 490

Note: The same dates above apply to next season's deposits.

 

Refund Policy for All

Deposit: Once paid, the deposit is non-refundable (but valid for 2 years) as it will be spent on making in-country arrangements. 

Balance: Pay the balance only after arrival in Tajikistan on the first day. Payment guidelines will be shared timely.

Currency

All international travelers can pay in US Dollars (USD) or equivalent in Euros (EUR) or Pound Sterling (GBP). Tajikistani travelers are charged the equivalent in Tajikistani  Somoni (TJS).

Single Supplement

Separate hotel rooms (single supplement) will cost an additional USD 290. This includes all hotel nights. This payment should be made with the balance upon arrival.

Separate tents (single tent) will cost an additional USD 180. This includes the cost of additional porterage. This payment should also be made with the balance in Tajikistan.
