Overview – Sukaei Sar Climbing Expedition
The Sukaei Sar Climbing Expedition in the Allai Valley provides climbers with a tough and rewarding experience in northwest Pakistan’s gorgeous and rough landscape. Sukaei Sar rises out at an elevation of 4,690 meters, southeast of Ghaziano Dhand and Ghaziano Kandao. The voyage begins with a departure from Islamabad, followed by a midnight drive that takes participants to Allai in the early morning. From Allai, the journey leads through a lonely and gorgeous country, crossing off-road tracks to Shamsher Village, where the expedition officially begins.
The first stage of the hike leads climbers to Kaskhwar Forest, a lush and verdant location that serves as the first camping site. This leg of the expedition entails a full day of hiking across difficult terrain, lasting roughly 6-7 hours. Along the trip, participants will see a variety of local flora and fauna, as well as intermittent rest stops and meals to refill their energies. By dusk, the party has set up camp at Kaskhwar Forest, located at an elevation of 3000/3100 meters, where the calm of the surroundings provides a serene backdrop for an overnight stay.
The expedition’s next few days are spent progressing towards the base camp at Khapero Dand Lake, located at an elevation of 4100 meters. This strenuous hike takes another full day of hiking, negotiating steep roads, and ascending through alpine meadows. The route to Khapero Dand Lake offers breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks and valleys, with many stops for food and rest to help climbers retain their strength and stamina. Climbers set up camp and prepare for the final challenge: ascending Sukaei Sar Peak.
Summit day begins before dawn, with climbers rising early to make the final push to the summit of Sukaei Sar, which stands magnificently at 4688 meters above sea level. The ascent is a hard climb that tests competitors’ physical endurance and mental fortitude as they cross steep, rocky terrain. The summit provides stunning panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks, instilling climbers with a sense of success and awe-inspiring natural beauty.
After ascending Sukaei Sar, climbers descend to lower elevations before returning to Jeribela or Khuzkhur for a well-deserved rest and celebration of their accomplishment. The descent follows the same path as the ascent, providing an opportunity to reflect on the hardships overcome and the friendships made during the journey. The voyage culminates in Allai, when participants return to Islamabad, leaving with them memories of an incredible adventure in the heart of the Allai Valley.
