Itinerary – Manaslu Circuit Trek
The itinerary for the Manaslu Circuit Trek is noticeable below.
Day 02: Trek Preparation/Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing Tour
Following breakfast, we will go on a brief sightseeing trip to Kathmandu, the historic city. This beautiful city boasts several medieval landmarks, like as temples, palaces, and bihars. Several UNESCO-listed world heritage sites in Kathmandu Valley serve as open museums of sorts. These stunning landmarks offer excellent opportunities for cultural and historical investigation.
To begin, we will journey to the Swayambhunath stupa, which is positioned on a mountaintop, to witness the stunning dawn. It is also known as a monkey temple since there are several monkeys in the stupa region. This stupa overlay provides a comprehensive perspective of the Kathmandu valley. Then we will visit additional holy landmarks in the city, such as Pashupatinath and Boudhanath.
Pashupatinath is a Hindu holy site and the home of Lord Shiva, whereas Boudhanath is a stunning monument devoted to Lord Buddha. There are several Thanka galleries, restaurants, cafés, and other establishments surrounding Boudha. If time allows, we can visit the city's durbar squares, which include Basantapur, Patan, and Bhaktapur. Various temples in this city date back to the Malla era.
Because you won't be able to see all of the city's sites, you can plan ahead of time. There are several Newar communities with distinctive architecture. You may visit charming local eateries that provide local foods. After seeing these lovely locations, you will return to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 03: Drive to Machha Khola (900m/2952ft)
Distance: 160 kilometers
Duration: 9 hours
Your guide will come to your hotel at about 8 a.m. this morning to take you up. You'll be traveling to Machha Khola, and the first part will take around five hours. You'll continue over a pleasant, paved road until you reach Tari Bensi, which is around 115 kilometers distant.

After breakfast, you'll begin your journey from Machha Khola, which will take you over a combination of uphill and downhill terrain until you settle in Khorlabesi. After passing through Khorlabesi, you'll arrive at the popular and bustling Tatopani, which is home to various teahouses. Continuing, you'll briefly traverse a wooded hill before reaching a suspension bridge over the Budhi Gandaki River; here, Dovan, we may halt for lunch. This part of the trek will take you through the jungle, and you may come across mules along the way.

The majority of the villagers are Tibetan native peasants whose primary vocations are agriculture and animal husbandry, with barley and maize as crops and oats and nuts as fruits.

You'll next round the valley of the Salka Khola and climb up again till you reach Dharamsala, also known as Larke Phedi. Tomorrow, you'll prepare for the major and demanding day: a hike to the Larke-La pass.

Overview – Manaslu Circuit Trek
The Manaslu Circuit is an off-the-beaten-path that is highly recommended if you want a quiet but rewarding journey. The circuit trip encircles Mt. Manaslu, the world’s eighth-highest summit, and was accessible to the public in 1992. Today, it is more popular, and the trek offers spectacular views of Mt. Manaslu flanked by Himalculi Himal, Ganesh Himal, and Annapurna II.
The 15-day Manaslu Circuit Trek, located in Nepal’s western central area, is rich in biodiversity and heavily influenced by Tibetan Buddhism. You will be transported back in time as you walk along the footsteps of ancient pilgrims and early explorers. Colorful prayer flags, mani walls and shortens, spiritual prayer wheels, and historic monasteries greet you. Tibetan traditions continue to have a significant impact on the Manaslu region, even after all these years. Furthermore, the shifting panorama from subtropical Himalayan foothills to dry desert-like terrain bordering Tibet will captivate you.
Your 15-day Manaslu Circuit Trek begins at Tribhuvan International Airport when you arrive in Kathmandu. An Apricot Tours representative, your expedition’s introduction guide, will be standing with a display board ready for your arrival. You can also choose to conduct the Kathmandu Valley trip before or after the walk, depending on your comfort level. The itinerary includes visits to the valley’s most iconic and archaeologically significant UNESCO World Heritage Sites. They include the sacred Pashupatinath Temple, the massive Boudhanath Stupa, the spectacular Kathmandu Durbar Square, and the ageless Swayambhunath Stupa. All of them will teach you about architecture and history, as well as a variety of cultural and spiritual topics.
After making your selection, your trip begins with a drive from Kathmandu to Maccha Khola. You will arrive at your location after traveling through Tari Bensi along a hard, dirt-covered route. Along the trip, you’ll be captivated by Nepal’s stunning rural landscape. From Machha Khola, you climb up and downwards till you reach Khorlabesi Village. Your next stop is Tatopani, a wonderful hot spring. A trading post between Nepal and China, you will see the hustle and bustle of businesses, teahouse proprietors, shoppers, and travelers. From Tatopani, we will pass a rugged, forested terrain to Dovan, where we will eat lunch. After traveling through Sal woods, little rivers, streams, and gushing waterfalls, we arrive at the trail’s crowning achievement: Jagat. It is a tiny, dispersed community that entices visitors with its rustic charm and kind friendliness. Small mani walls and chortens line the paths.
As we approach Deng and Namrung, the terrain gets increasingly rough. We also see a progressive shift in the impact of Tibetan culture. Gompas (Buddhist monasteries) and mani walls provide a vibrant cultural atmosphere. While going through the villages, you may sample locally produced alcohol made from fermented barley. Ascending through the rhododendron-covered valley hills, you will arrive at Lho Gaun and Samagaon for rest and acclimatization (required for your body to acclimate to the high altitude). You feel pleasure and satisfaction in knowing you’ve reached a milestone: Manaslu Base Camp (4750m). Following that, we travel to Samdo, a tiny Tibetan refugee hamlet with breathtaking mountain views. Our final stop is Dharmasala before heading to the difficult Larkya La Mountain Pass (5106m). The view of the mountains from the past will be with you for the rest of your life.
On the horizon, you will see the majestic Himalayan range of Himlung Himal (7126m), Cheo Himal (6820m), Gyaji Kung (7030m), and Annapurna II (7937m), towering powerfully and arrayed gorgeously, with Mt. Manaslu (8,163m) in the background. Then we descend to Bhimtang, traveling through different terrains dotted with beautiful trees and roaring rivers. We then proceed on to Goa, where we will stay overnight. We complete our journey at Tilije and then take a vehicle to Beshishahar, saying goodbye to the mountains. A drive from Beshishahar takes us to Kathmandu, where you’ll have time to relax and reflect on your incredible Himalayan adventure.
