Itinerary – Kathmandu World Heritage Sites Tour

The itinerary for the Kathmandu World Heritage Sites Tour is given below.

We will visit two of Kathmandu's seven World Heritage Sites on this day.

Pashupatinath Temple

Begin your day with breakfast, then drive to the northeast of the valley to see the most respected Hindu temple, Pashupatinath, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple was built in 400 BCE and was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1979. Hindus can only visit the main temple, but the gold-plated roof's distant perspective is seen from afar, making it distinctive.

Boudhanath Stupa

Our next trip will be the Boudhanath Stupa, which is just a few minutes away. The stupa was erected around 600 AD and is known as the world's largest dome-shaped stupa. It was included in the UNESCO World Heritage list alongside Pashupatinath. After circling the stupa, indulge in authentic Tibetan food before embarking on a lengthy trip to Nagarkot.

The one-hour trip takes the Arniko Highway to Nagarkot, a well-known hill station. The vistas of the city below and the lush hills make for a delightful drive.

The major draw of Nagarkot is getting up early before dawn for a short climb up to the tower to see the sunrise and the Himalayan vistas. Some of the mountains seen from the viewpoint are Mt. Jugal, Ganesh Himal, and the Langtang Range. Following breakfast, we will visit two world heritage sites.

Changu Narayan Temple

A half-hour journey south of Nagarkot takes us to Changu Narayan, Nepal's oldest temple. It was constructed around 325 AD and designated as a World Heritage Site in The main temple is a two-story pagoda designed and dedicated to Lord Vishnu. There are additional temples nearby, and the mountaintop offers views of the city.

Bhaktapur Durbar Square

Later in the afternoon, return to Nepal's oldest city, Bhaktapur, to tour the historic Durbar Square, which underwent considerable building in the 16th century. One of the valley's two squares commemorates the Malla dynasty. Visit the Nyatapola temple, the 55-window palace, and other palaces that have been converted into the National Art Museum and the Brass and Metal Museum. Before going back to your Kathmandu accommodation, take in the Newari culture, traditions, unique clothing, and cuisine.

After breakfast, we'll head to the final two UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Patan Durbar Square

Patan, also known as Lalitpur, is located in the valley's south-central region. It is one of the largest Newari settlements, and it is home to the valley's third largest Durbar Square. Patan Durbar Square was created in the 16th century by the Malla Kings as their residence. It is famed for the Krishna, Bhimsen, and Taleju Bhawani temples, as well as a museum that depicts architectural backgrounds.

Swayambhunath Stupa

From there, travel to Kathmandu's western highlands to visit one of the most respected Buddhist pilgrimage sites, the Swayambhunath Stupa/Monkey Temple. After many stairs to the top of the hill, you will arrive at the dome, which is crowned by 13 rings in the spire. The summit offers views of the city. You are sure to witness a lot of monkeys and peaceful scenery.

After your trip, you may visit the local artisan stores to take home some gifts.

On your final day in Nepal, after breakfast, you can go shopping before being driven off at the airport according to your departure itinerary. As you board your aircraft, our agents will bid you farewell, hoping that you will return soon for another exciting trip with us.
