Itinerary – Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek

The itinerary for the Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek is noticeable below.

Free day to explore the city and prepare for the journey. Overnight stay at the hotel.

The 50-minute flight from Kathmandu provides vistas of the Himalayan area where the climb would take place. Then we'll drive by automobile. Taplejung is the region's gateway and a thriving community due to its significance in local trade and transportation.

Overnight stay at the guesthouse with breakfast, lunch, and supper included.

 Elevation: (1576 m/5169 ft)

Duration: 5-6 hours

As we go from Taplejung to Shekathum, let us enjoy the picturesque trip over the majestic Eastern Himalayas. Marvel at the splendor of verdant valleys and flowing waterfalls, and experience the excitement of curving mountain roads under us.

When we arrive at Shekathum, let us enjoy the tranquility of this distant community, where every corner promises adventure and discovery.

Elevation: (2308 meters/7570 feet)

Duration: 6-7 hours

Trekking from Shekathum to Amjilesa is difficult. After crossing the suspension bridge outside Shekathum, we enter a deep forest, climb a difficult track, and then drop and cross the river again. We also ascend a gorge from the bottom, pass through Solima hamlet, and return to the river level. Overall, this day's hike is rather difficult.

As a result, extreme caution is advised, particularly when following the route that crosses through the canyon. We next take a rough trail that goes both uphill and downward until we reach Amjilosa, where we spend the night.

 Elevation: (2730 m/8954 ft)

Duration: 6-7 hours

We begin walking from the riverbank and go through a dense forest of bamboo, fir, and rhododendrons until arriving at a little stone cottage by the river.

We next walk uphill, crossing a few tiny bridges on the route. Here, we may enjoy the company of breathtaking waterfalls that flow from the mountains. After another short uphill hike, we arrive at the Tibetan village of Gyabla.

Elevation: (3595 meters/11792 feet)

Duration: 5-6 hours

We will begin our trip from Gyabla to Ghunsa, passing through the spectacular Himalayan environment. Along the way, we'll see magnificent woods, flowing rivers, and quaint Sherpa settlements like Phale and Phere.

As we climb, we'll be rewarded with stunning vistas of towering peaks and gushing waterfalls, taking in the natural beauty around us. When we arrive at Ghunsa, tucked in the mountains, we will be greeted with a peaceful atmosphere and traditional Sherpa culture.

Here, we may visit the monasteries, mingle with the friendly inhabitants, and recharge for the activities that await us in this Himalayan wonderland.

We take the opportunity to acclimate at Ghunsa before beginning our climb the next day. We encourage you to be active even on rest days, as this is preferable to sitting sedentary when hiking. As a result, we set out on a short journey through the beautiful green forest to the Laspsan La monastery. Return to Ghunsa in the afternoon and rest.

Elevation: (4050 m/13284 ft)

Duration: 5-6 hours

From Ghunsa, we continue north along the riverbank, passing through breathtaking mountain landscapes. We travel past meadows brimming with wildflowers, rhododendrons, and pine trees. We cross a bridge at Rampuk Kharka, proceed beyond the waterfall, and negotiate the landslide's challenging portion.

After traversing the landslide region, we can enjoy the breathtaking vista of Mt. Jannu. We continue exploring and overcoming the hard mountain trail until we reach to Kambachen, where we spend the night.

We spend another day acclimatizing in Kambachen, which is reserved for participants in high elevations and check to see if anyone in the group is experiencing altitude sickness symptoms. The main plan for today is to unwind by taking a bath and exploring the Nuphchu Khola Valley region. We spent yet another night in Kambachen.

Elevation: (4780 m/15678 ft)

Duration: 6-7 hours

Today will be another hard day, so an early start is required. We hike over steep meadows and enormous stones on the slope along the riverbed to reach a waterfall. We then cross a bridge to the Ramtang monastery. We next encounter a landslide stretch, which we must navigate at a steady speed before descending to the river and arriving in Lhonak.

Elevation: (5143m/16870ft)

Duration: 6–7 hours

In the rocky areas of the Kanchenjunga Glacier, proceed with caution. Reach Pangpema, a grassy base camp, then ascend to enjoy panoramic views of Jannu, Kanchenjunga, and Chang Himal before returning to Lhonak.

Elevation: (3595 m/11792 ft)

Duration: 3-4 hours

Following a trail across varied settings such as rocky hills, alpine meadows, and dense woods. Along the route, you'll discover the charm of traditional Sherpa communities as well as the tranquility of flowing waterfalls. Ghunsa greets us with warm hospitality and a rich Buddhist past, offering a wonderful journey in the heart of the Kanchenjunga area.

Elevation: (4200 m/13775 ft)

Duration: 6-7 hours

The climb from Ghunsa to Sele-Le is difficult. When we get to Sele Le, we climb through a lush forest of moss, rhododendrons, and juniper. Lunch will be given in an acceptable setting with access to water. We spent the night in Sele Le.

Elevation: (3870 m/12694 ft)

Duration: 6-7 hours

We go higher and take in the breathtaking south-facing views of Jannu Himal and Makalu. Today is a difficult hiking day as we cross numerous passes, including Selele-La Pass (4480m), Sinjon La (4646m), Mirgin La, and Sinelapche Bhanjyang. We next descend steeply to Cheram, where we will spend the night.

Elevation: (4580 m/15022 ft)

Duration: 4-5 hours

Today, we start our journey by rising beyond the Yalung Glacier, surrounded by the peaceful Simbuwa Khola. Pass past Lapsang hamlet to reach Ramche, where breathtaking vistas of blue sheep and the majestic southern face of Kanchenjunga await. Trek from Ramche to Oktang to get panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks.

Return to Ramche and spend the night surrounded by the breathtaking grandeur of the Himalayas.

Elevation: (2995 meters/9824 feet)

Duration: 5-6 hours

We're traveling downhill to Torongden. We'll go through dense forests and across rivers, and most of the time it will be downhill. During our tour, we will pass through charming villages like as Cheram and Anda Phedi, soaking in the local culture and beauty. Our day finishes when we arrive at Torongden, where we will spend the night relaxing after our journey.

Elevation: (2870m/9415ft)

Duration: 5-6 hours

We're off on a gorgeous trip from Torongden to Yasang, which typically takes us 5-6 hours. As we descend through lush forests and winding pathways, we'll take in the spectacular vistas of the surrounding mountains. With each step, we will feel the calm of the Himalayan environment embrace us.

Elevation: (1740m/6230ft)

Trek Duration: 3-4 hours

Drive Duration: 4-5 hours

We set out on the walk to Hellok, where our trekking experience concludes. Descending through lush forests and rocky roads, we'll enjoy beautiful views of the high mountains that surround us.

Keep a watch out for local animals, which adds to the excitement of our tour. When we arrive at Hellok, our trekking expedition concludes, and we'll continue our experience with a gorgeous jeep journey to Taplejung, remembering the amazing moments we had on the climb.

Duration: 8-9 hours

The scenic trip from Taplejung to Bhadrapur offers views of Nepal's rural surroundings. Then travel to Kathmandu from Bhadrapur and transfer to your accommodation.
