Hindukush Snow Festival (2024-25)
The Hindukush Snow Festival in Madaklasht, Chitral, is an annual celebration of winter sports and cultural heritage set against the picturesque backdrop of Shishi Valley. Established in 2020, the event brings together fans from all over the world to enjoy skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, and traditional ice hockey, as well as rich local music, arts, and cuisine. In this one-of-a-kind blend of sport and culture that displays the beauty and spirit of the Hindukush, you may experience the thrill of adventure as well as the warmth of Chitrali hospitality.

Day 02: Drive to Madaklasht
On this Day
- Breakfast at Drosh then moved to 4x4 Jeeps for an additional two and a half hours of off-road journey to Madaklasht
- Drive through the Shishi Valley on a snow-covered narrow road
- Upon arrival, you will be transferred to local accommodation. A full day for acclimatization to the weather
- Lunch and dinner at a nearby home
Day 03: Explore Madaklast
On this Day
- Full-day acclimatization and exploration of Madaklasht, including a trip to the slopes and skiing areas
- Stay at Madaklasht in the Local House
- BBQ Night and Musical Bonfire
Day 04: Hindukush Snow Festival (Madaglasht Chitral)
On this Day
- Free day to learn about the culture of Madaklasht Village
- Snow skiing, snow tubing, and snow trekking
- Enjoy the villagers' cultural dances and bonfires
- Overnight at Madaklasht in the Locals House
- Observation of skiing competitions.
Day 05: Exploration Day
On this Day
- Free day to try skiing, tubing, and have some fun, meet up with foreign skiers, and engage in full-day events.
- Overnight at a local home.
Day 06: Depart for Islamabad
On this Day
Departure to Drosh in the early afternoon for a brief visit. Transferred to a deluxe bus to Islamabad and arrived at 06:00.

Overview – Hindukush Snow Festival
Madaklasht, located in the south-east of District Lower Chitral, is home to 4,000 people of Persian, Uzbek, and Tajik descent and serves as a hub of leisure activities. Madaklasht has several of the best things to do in one location. Madaklasht has spectacular sceneries to explore, including scenic mountains, glaciers, stunning vistas, trekking routes, lakes, and thousand-year-old living civilizations and the history of Tajik and Uzbek of Central Asia intermingled with Chitral culture. But the pleasure doesn’t stop there. Madaklasht is also home to touchable nature and human history, hospitality, wonderful local food, crafts and arts, music, language, and attitudes of the local people. It has been inhabited since ancient civilizations walked the Earth.
Madaklasht in Shishi Valley is more than simply a community brimming with culture and hospitality; it will also be remembered for hosting the inaugural Hindukush Snow Sports event in 2020 when the KPK government planned a winter snowboarding event in the village. Skiing, snowboarding, and ice skating are offered during the three-day sports festival in Madaklasht village. But that is not all! The festival will include an ice hockey match, other sporting events, and a social and cultural program to entertain tourists.
