Take an early morning flight from Kathmandu to Tenzing-Hillary Airport in Lukla, the first Sherpa hamlet along the path. Meet the rest of the group and gather your items before departing.
Begin your trip from Lukla and go to Chauri Kharka. Follow the trek along the banks of the Dudh Koshi River to Phakding, a tiny Sherpa settlement in the Dudh Koshi valley with a few teahouses and cafés. Stroll through the village and take in the sights, or take a well-deserved break and prepare for tomorrow's difficult climb. Stay overnight in Phakding.
Day 03: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,286ft)
Distance: 10.5 km
Duration: 6-7 hours
Wake up early and go out to Namche Bazaar, the capital of the Sherpa homeland. Walk through a lush pine forest and over many metal suspension bridges, including the famed Hillary Bridge, which is adorned with colorful prayer flags. Take a picturesque trek to Monjo and enter Sagarmatha National Park.
Tope Danda offers the first view of Mount Everest. Walking past chortens (Buddhist shrines), mani walls etched with Buddhist mantras, and breathtaking Himalayan landscape, you eventually arrive at Namche Bazaar. The hamlet is shaped like a beautiful amphitheater carved deep into the mountains. Stay overnight at Namche Bazaar.
Day 04: Acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,286ft)
Duration: 3-4 hours
Stay in Namche to acclimatize. Namche is the primary trade center in the Khumbu area. ATMs, both low-cost and high-end mountain resorts, bakeries, computer cafés, and restaurants are all available here.
Every Saturday, a 'Saturday Market' takes place in the bazaar area, where vendors from the Khumbu region and Tibet sell their items. Acclimatization hikes include a trip to the Everest View Hotel for close-up views of Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Everest, as well as walks to the neighboring Sherpa town of Khumjung, which is located at the foot of Khumbila, the Sherpas' sacred mountain.
The town is home to the first school in the Khumbu Region, founded by the late Sir Edmund Hillary. Khumjung's other claim to fame is its monastery, which shelters the head of a Yeti, the abominable snowman. Stay overnight at Namche Bazaar.
Day 05: Trek to Tengboche (3,860m/12,664ft)
Distance: 10 km
Duration: 5-6 hours
Follow the steep climb out of Namche. The route winds along the slope, providing several photo possibilities. The brilliant white Himalayan peaks of Ama Dablam and Thamserku look so near.
Before descending to Phortse Tenga, go through a grove of pine and rhododendron trees. Cross the suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi and continue up a twisting trail to Tengboche. Ama Dablam seems to greet you with outstretched arms as you reach Tengboche. When you reach the village, go to a teahouse to be refreshed. Later, visit the old Tengboche Monastery, the most important monastery in the Khumbu area. Explore the monastery. Seek blessings from the monks who are singing prayers during the session. Tengboche will be our overnight stop.

Duration: 5-6 hours
Wake up early to watch the sun rise over Ama Dablam. Later, travel to Dingboche. Follow a woodland trail down to Deboche, which houses a Buddhist nunnery.
Hike past mani walls, breathtaking Himalayan vistas, and another Sherpa town, Pangboche, which houses the oldest monastery in Khumbu Himal, Pangboche Gompa. Before approaching Dingboche village, walk past a few yak herders' cottages and cross a river. The lovely community is located in a valley surrounded by agriculture and snowcapped hills. Head to a teahouse to refuel. Overnight at Dingboche.
Day 07: Acclimatization day in Dingboche (4,410m/14,469ft)
Distance: 4.5 km
Duration: 4-5-hours
You're at 4,400 meters and can feel the change in the environment. A rest day in Dingboche will help your body cope with the fall in oxygen levels. There are various alternatives for acclimatization hikes.
Ascend Nangkartshang or Nagarjun Hill to get panoramic views of Makalu and the surrounding mountains. At 5083m, the hill is higher than the Alps (4810m) and provides an easy, non-technical ascent. Visit Nangkartshang Gompa, a modest chorten that offers a 360-degree panorama of the Himalayan peaks.
Alternatively, you may take a strenuous round-trip hike to Chukkung Valley for breathtaking vistas of rolling glaciers and Tibetan peaks. You may also visit the Himalayan Rescue Association clinic in Pheriche, a neighboring Sherpa hamlet. If you don't want to push yourself too much and prefer to relax, tour the hamlet and climb one of the little hills surrounding it. Overnight at Dingboche.
Day 08: Trek to Lobuche (4,910m/16,109ft)
Distance: 8 km
Duration: 5-6 hours
Leaving Dingboche, go towards Lobuche. Take a lunch break at Thukla before continuing to Thukla Pass. You're presently in a wild country. Stone shrines dedicated to individuals who died on Everest demonstrate how harsh and brutal the mountains can be. At Thukla Pass, khatas (traditional silk scarves) adorn tributes to Rob Hall, Scott Fischer, Rob Hall, and the great Sherpa Late Babu Chiri Sherpa (who ascended Everest without supplemental oxygen and stayed 22 hours at the peak). The ill-fated trip of Hall and Fischer is chronicled in Jon Krakauer's best-selling book "Into Thin Air" and the film "Everest."
With some of the world's highest peaks around you, travel over desolate and rocky landscapes to Lobuche, one of the few communities in this high-altitude snowy desert. The village, which was previously a yak herders' summer camp, is now home to only a few tea establishments. Stay overnight at Lobuche.
Day 09: Trek to Gorak Shep (5,140m/16,864ft) and visit EBC (5,364m/17,598ft)
Distance: 12 km
Duration: 7–8 hours
Today is a special day because you get to stand at EBC, at the base of Mount Everest, the world's highest mountain. Trek from Lobuche to Gorak Shep, one of Everest's highest Sherpa communities.
Follow the Khumbu Glacier and trek along a steep moraine until you reach the little town of Gorak Shep. Once you arrive in Gorak Shep, you settle into your teahouse and have refreshments. Later, climb to Everest Base Camp. The road to EBC offers spectacular views of Everest, Pumori, Nuptse, and Khumbutse. The base camp is the initial camp for expedition parties aiming to ascend Mount Everest. During the climbing season, the region appears joyful, with colorful tents covering the base camp.
Walk down the Khumbu Glacier to see the beautiful Khumbu Icefall, a frozen torrent of ice and snow that flows down the foot of Mount Everest. Visit expedition camps and connect with climbers. Photograph your ascent to the foot of Mount Everest. Stay overnight at Gorak Shep.
If you opt to visit EBC today, the Kala Patthar walk may be completed tomorrow, and vice versa.
Day 10: Hike to Kala Patthar (5,550m/18,209ft) and descend to Dzongla (4,840m/15,879ft)
Distance: 12km
Duration: 6-7 hours
Get up early and climb to Kala Patthar. Kala Patthar is a little black hill located around two hours walk from Gorak Shep. Mount Everest, Pumori, Nuptse, Changtse, and Lhotse can all be seen clearly from here. Jimmy Roberts, an explorer and commercial trekking pioneer in Nepal, invented the name Kala Patthar, or 'Black Rock'.
It is one of the most popular overlooks in the Khumbu area, offering views of Mount Everest's rocky top. Later, descend to Gorak Shep. Later, take the way to Dzongla. You make a lunch break in Lobuche along the way. When you arrive in Dzongla, proceed to your teahouse for some well-deserved relaxation. Overnight in Dzongla.
Day 11: Trek to Thaknak (4,680m/15,354ft) across Cho La Pass (5,420m/17,782ft)
Distance: 6 km
Duration: 7-8 hours
Get up early and hike the trek toward Cho La Pass. Today is significant since it is also the most difficult day of your walk, as you traverse the high mountain pass of Cho La. The crossing is one of the trek's highlights, with a non-technical ascent to the Cho La saddle at 5367m.
The length of time it takes to ascend the pass is determined by the snow conditions. Even though the ascent is non-technical, the walk up the pass is difficult. The peak of the Cho La Pass is always covered with snow and ice. From the summit, you may enjoy breathtaking views of the valley below. The Himalayan peaks of Ama Dablam, Baruntse, and Lobuche East appear on the horizon. The glacier envelops the snow-covered pass until it reaches its maximum height.
Keep your footing when descending steep sections covered with loose rocks. Cross a grassy slope and slowly descend to the little Sherpa town of Thaknak, which is located at the base of Cho La Pass. Spend the night at Thaknak.
Day 12: Trek to Gokyo (4,790m/15,715ft)
Distance: 4 km
Duration: 4-5 hours
Thaknak is on the eastern edge of the Gokyo Valley. This is one of the remaining human settlements on the Nepalese side; the other side is Tibet. En route, take in the breathtaking vista of Cho Oyu (8188m), the world's sixth-highest mountain.
Travel from Thaknak to Gokyo. Follow a route that meanders around Nepal's longest glacier, the Nzogumpa Glacier. As the glacier advances, the track changes. If you don't have a skilled mountain guide to lead you through such portions, you're likely to become lost. Don't worry, our expert guides know which way to travel even if the old track is destroyed.
Follow an uneven trail marked with cairns. Stop at regular intervals to regain your breath and take in the rough alpine views. Gokyo is located on the eastern coast of Gokyo Cho, the biggest of the Gokyo Lakes, also known as Dudh Pokhari. Make your head to a teahouse for some well-deserved slumber. Stay overnight in Gokyo.
Day 13: Hike to Gokyo Ri (5,360m/17,585ft) and trek to Machhermo (4,470m/14,665ft)
Distance: 7 km
Duration: 5-6 hours
Wake up early and make the difficult climb up the Gokyo Ri for breathtaking 360-degree views of the Gokyo Valley. This is the ideal vantage point for seeing the lakes and mountains.
From the summit, you can see ice glaciers falling into green lakes, surrounded by an uninterrupted chain of snow-capped Himalayan peaks. Gokyo Ri is one of the Khumbu region's most popular overlooks, offering breathtaking views of the Himalayas. This is one of those sights that will live in your memory forever.
Later in the day, take the solitary and ruggedly gorgeous trail to Machhermo. The trail follows the slope of Nzogumpa Glacier, Nepal's longest glacier, which begins at the foot of Cho Oyu in Tibet and flows down to the Gokyo Valley in Nepal. Take caution when crossing the glacier's moraine and unstable rocks. Cross Pangkha before heading upward to Machhermo. Go to a teahouse and rest. Stay overnight in Machhermo.
Day 14: Trek to Namche (3,440m/11,286ft)
Distance: 16 km
Duration: 7-8 hours
Better get an early start because today's stroll is long. Follow a trek through pine and rhododendron woodland, passing solitary yak herders' homes.
Walk above the junction of the Dudh Koshi and Imja Khola for breathtaking views of Everest, Lhotse, and other peaks. Before arriving at Namche, go by beautiful Buddhist prayer flags and chortens.
