Itinerary – Ama Dablam Base Camp Trek

The itinerary for the Ama Dablam Base Camp Trek is noticeable below.

After breakfast, you will go off to tour some of the city's UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Kathmandu is rich in culture, history, and spirituality. Amidst the rush and bustle of daily life, you will discover passageways lined with temples and monuments dating back hundreds of years. Your first destination would be Kathmandu Durbar Square, often known as Basantapur or Weird Street. There, you may tour the historic Shah dynasty palace, which has been converted into a museum.

After exploring the neighborhood courtyards, head to the Swayambhubnath Stupa on the western hilltop, which offers a panoramic view of the city. Alternatively, you might visit the Boudhanath Stupa in the northern suburbs, which is one of the world's largest stupas.

After savoring the quiet and serenity of the stupa, you may visit the Pashupatinath temple. It is considered one of the most important sacred places for Hindus.

Distance: 8 km

Duration: 3-4 hours

After breakfast and packing your bags, proceed to the domestic terminal at Tribhuvan International Airport for your flight to Lukla. Lukla has the sole airport in the whole Khumbu area. It is one of the most thrilling and daring flights, as you get a bird's-eye perspective of the rivers, hills, and, finally, snow-capped mountains.

After arriving at the Tenzing Hilliary Airport in Lukla and settling up, you will begin your journey to Phakding Village. Today's walk is short and simple. The Khumbu region's climate and geography differ significantly from those of Kathmandu. You will arrive at Chaurikhara village after traveling through tough terrain alongside the Dudh Koshi River while dressed warmly. Then, farther ahead, you'll arrive at Khumbila mountain, which is revered by the ethnic Sherpa population.

As you approach Phakding, the road will soon be stone-paved. The modest dwellings are decked with prayer flags, and you'll see mani walls. Once at the village, relax and spend the evening with the residents while sipping hot butter tea.

Distance: 10.5 km

Duration: 6-7 hours

Begin your day with a steady incline along the Dudh Koshi River. After crossing the suspension bridge across the river, you will enter a dense forest of pine, juniper, and rhododendrons. Eventually, the trail will lead to Monjo village. Then you can continue ahead and cross the famous Hillary Suspension Bridge. In a short while, you will reach the Monjo checkpoint, the entrance to Sagarmatha National Park. The park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that protects subalpine vegetation and is dominated by Mount Everest.

After your guide shows all the documents, you will move ahead to Jorsale Village. On the trek, be captivated by the first glimpses of Mt. Everest. After lunch, you'll stroll to Namche Bazaar. On the way, you can see how the locals preserve honeycombs and pine plantations. After a little way, you will reach Tope Danda, from where you can see the Namche town in the distance.

Today marks the first day of acclimatization on the journey. You do not need to get up early, but if you want to see the sun's rays fall over the mountains, this is the finest time. You will be astounded by the amenities available at Namche Bazaar. It serves as the business and tourism hub for the Khumbu area. Because this route is used by the majority of treks and excursions, you may encounter a large number of other climbers. You can talk with them in the afternoon.

After breakfast, proceed to the Namche Monastery and visit the grounds while spinning the prayer wheels. It is a detailed portrayal of the Sherpa culture. Furthermore, if you go up to the nearest viewpoint, you can see Konde Ri (6187m) and Mt. Everest in the distance. You may also trek up to the Khunde Hospital, which was established by Sir. Edmund Hillary. Many trekkers prefer to hike to the Everest View Hotel, which is located just above Namche and offers a clear view of Ama Dablam.

Duration: 5-6 hours

After breakfast, you will travel from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche along the Dudh Koshi River for the first stage of the trial. As you pass through the village, there is a short incline, and then you will follow the sandy route straight for most of the journey. There may be an occasional flight of stone stairs.

Mt. Ama Dablam is on exhibit with others like Nuptse, Lhotse, and Mt. Everest. The road eventually leads you through a forest, where the rocky ground makes it more difficult. Then you'll cross the Phunki Tenga River via a suspension bridge. From there, you will gain height on an uphill climb on a zig-zag track. After going via steep rocky roads and amid narrow tree lines, you will make the push to Tengboche.

There are various hotels in this Sherpa community. After relaxing in a tea house, take a short stroll to the Tengboche Monastery. The monastery, also known as Dawa Choling Gompa, is the area's most well-known landmark and the largest in the Khumbu region. The gompa overlooks the settlement and the mountains surrounding it.

Distance: 4.5 km

Duration: 2 hours

It is a simple and short journey of around 2 hours that serves the goal of acclimatization. The first section of the trip takes you through some treelines, passing a tiny nunnery at Milingo. One of the day's highlights is crossing the magnificent Imja Khola gorge. The trail leads to a little bridge and provides views of Ama Dablam in full motion. You'll soon arrive in Pangboche village.

You have the rest of the day to yourself, so go exploring. After settling into your tea house, continue hiking to a vantage point that provides wonderful views while also assisting with acclimatization. You may also visit Pangoche, which is home to the Khumbu's oldest monastery. In the evening, interact with the locals, who may share some folklore and keep you entertained. Before going to bed, make all of the necessary plans for the next day's exciting trip to Ama Dablam Base Camp.

From there, you begin a steep descent to the Imja Khola River. Then cross a suspension bridge across the river and undertake an upward ascent.

You will come to an open yak pasture where you may relax. As you continue walking, you will come upon a tiny lake. Because most hikers who visit Pangboche choose the direct path to Everest rather than this one, it has remained pristine and green for many years. After a few more uphill climbs, you'll reach Ama Dalam Base Camp. The adrenaline surges through your veins as you take in the vistas of Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Cholatse, and other eight-thousander and seven-thousand-meter summits like Mt. Everest, Lhotse Nuptse, and others.

Ama Dablam is one of the most famous mountains, notable for its steep, pyramidal face. The Nepali name 'Ama Dalam' means mother's necklace.' The mountain is named from its lengthy ridges, which resemble a mother's arm sheltering her kid. You get to witness the beauty and the of this peak.

Distance: 4 km

Duration: 4-5 hours

On this day, you'll leave Pangboche and proceed to Phortse, a short and easy hike. The first portion of the ascent leads to an old monastery in Upper Pangboche. Visit the monastery and worship the Tibetan gods. From there, you'll make a few uphill and downhill turns before walking an hour on a rather straight track.

After a difficult route and a tiny cliff, you may once again enjoy views of Ama Dablam. Peak Khumblia and Kondge Ri provide even more breathtaking vistas. After a short ascent, you will have a bird's-eye view of Namche Valley and Tengboche monastery from afar. Phortse, a Sherpa settlement, may be reached by passing through terraced fields. You can stumble upon Nepal's national bird, Danphe, hidden amid the treelines.

Duration: 6-7 hours

Distance: 15 km

As you approach Monjo on this day, you will notice a significant dip in elevation. As you descend steeply to the Dudh Koshi river route, you will have your final glimpse of Ama Dablam. You will pass via the settlement of Jorsale. Cross a suspension bridge and pass the Monjo checkpoint to reach dense woodland. If you're lucky, you could glimpse some musk deer. After crossing numerous additional wooden bridges, proceed to Monjo. Enjoy your visit and engage with the kind and inviting inhabitants.

Distance: 12 km

Duration: 5-6 hours

After breakfast, you'll follow the trek along the Dudh Koshi River to Lukla. Begin with a small descent towards Benkar. From there, you'll cross a suspension bridge to Phakding Village. From there, begin a slow climb towards Ghat while passing past Buddhist communities. In a little while, you will climb the route to reach Chablung. You will pass through scrubby woodland before arriving at the Pasang Lhamu Memorial Gate, which marks your arrival in Lukla. Relax at your tea house before going for a walk.

You will tour Lukla today because you did not have time to do so when you arrived in Khumbu. Because of the airport's proximity, the town has become more lovely and commercial. You will see stores, pubs, cafés, and souvenir shops where you may buy something to take home.

Duration: 35 min

After breakfast, fly from Lukla to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, you will be transported to your hotel in Thamel, where you may unwind after your long journey.

In the evening, you may explore Thamel's streets and sample local food. You may even go to a pub and dance the night away with your new pals in Nepal. Visit a local souvenir shop and purchase woolen hats, pashmina shawls, paintings, and crafts to take home.

On your final day in Nepal, our agents will transport you to the airport after breakfast. Following a cordial farewell, you will board your trip home. On the route, the vistas of the high-standing northeastern Himalayas will flash before your eyes, making you desire to return.
