The itinerary for the Central Pamir Horse Safari is given below.

On this Day

Altitude: 2800 m
Duration: 7-8 hrs

Today we begin our exploration of the Wakhan Corridor, this time from the Tajik side, which is quite developed. Enway, stop by the Kah-Kaha fortress in Namadgut, the residence and solar calendar pillar of Sufi Muborak Wakhani, the Buddhist Stupa IV century in Vrang, the sacred hot springs of Bibi Fatima Zahra, and the Yamchun citadel from the 3rd century BC. The entire road provides breathtaking views and creates the impression that this is the entryway from Central Asia to China. The first Silk Road. You will spend the night in Langar's guesthouse, where the owner, Yodgor, will perform music in the evening.

After breakfast, we will proceed to Yashil Kul Lake, which is 3715 meters high, and the little village of Bulunkul. It is a rugged but picturesque route that crosses the 4300m high Khargush Pass, offering breathtaking views of the snowcapped Wakhan range. The road is densely populated and provides a fantastic opportunity to see wildlife. We pass two stunning mountain lakes and cross the Pamir Highway to reach Tajikistan's coldest location, Bulunkul village. In the winter, the temperature here drops to 65 degrees Celsius below zero. Bulunkul is home to both Pamiri Tajiks and Kyrgyz shepherds, whose yurts dot the bleakly gorgeous landscape. We finish the last preparations for the next day's horseback riding expedition and eat delicious lake fish for dinner. We will spend the night at a guesthouse.

The trucks will drop you off at Suman Tash Shepherds Camp, where you will be met by your Batchor trekking team, which includes a local guide, a cook, horses, and horsemen. After 10 days, the drivers will take you up from the Batchor settlement. During the equestrian tour, the group will be self-sufficient. After packing the bags and receiving brief instructions from the horse guide, begin riding towards the first campsite in Marjanoy.

On our final day of riding, we get an early start and head to Bachor, the home hamlet of our horse guides. We'll say farewell to our horse guides and head back to Khorog.

Horse trekking takes 4-6 hours.

On this Day

A long day in Khorog. This can be utilized as an extra day if there are any delays along the way. If not, we can spend the day sightseeing in Khorog, the Pamirs' capital. Visit the world's second-highest botanical garden, the museum, the Ismailis Center, Central Park, gift shops, and so on. If our visit is on Saturday, we can go to the Afghan-Tajik cross-border market. Overnight at the hotel.

We return to Dushanbe via the Pamir Highway, halting again in Kalaikhumb.
If the weather permits, you can also schedule a domestic flight from Khorog to Dushanbe. After arriving in Dushanbe, transfer to hotel.

1. Early Bird Discount: The given prices for the holiday are limited-time discount offers and are subject to change. Service providers including (but not limited) to airlines and hotels increase prices in peak-season. Early reservations cost less than peak-season. 

2. Limited Flight Seats: Domestic flight seats to the Pamir and Himalayas are sold out way ahead of time because there are only two daily flights during peak season. Among other things, the deposit is used to book domestic flights for you in advance.

3. Pay Balance after arrival in Tajikistan: In these unusual times, we appreciate that paying the final balance for your trip may cause concern. Our policy is to only receive your final balance once you arrive in Tajikistan. The only payment before arrival is the deposit.

4. Deposit valid for 3 years: We understand the uncertainty surrounding the pandemic (Covid-19). As part of our relaxed booking conditions following Covid-19, deposits are valid for 2 years. 

6. Pay Minimum Deposit: The deposits for the holiday are also early-bird discounts and automatically change accordingly:

  • 1st November: USD 290
  • 1st January: USD 350
  • 15th February: USD 400
  • 1st March: USD 450
  • 1st May: USD 490

Note: The same dates above apply to next season's deposits.

 

Refund Policy for All

Deposit: Once paid, the deposit is non-refundable (but valid for 2 years) as it will be spent on making in-country arrangements. 

Balance: Pay the balance only after arrival in Tajikistan on the first day. Payment guidelines will be shared timely.

Currency

All international travelers can pay in US Dollars (USD) or equivalent in Euros (EUR) or Pound Sterling (GBP). Tajikistani travelers are charged the equivalent in Tajikistani  Somoni (TJS).

Single Supplement

Separate hotel rooms (single supplement) will cost an additional USD 290. This includes all hotel nights. This payment should be made with the balance upon arrival.

Separate tents (single tent) will cost an additional USD 180. This includes the cost of additional porterage. This payment should also be made with the balance in Tajikistan.
