On this Day

After a full breakfast, depart from Gilgit for Khaltoro Valley. The tour begins with a picturesque drive down the Darchan River, which provides stunning views of the mountains and valleys. After around 4-5 hours of driving, you'll arrive in Sassi, a little town where you may eat lunch before taking on the iconic Khaltoro Valley Road. This road is noted for its steep grades and hairpin twists, which offer both challenges and spectacular views. As you rise, snap photos and admire the rough beauty of the scenery. When you get to Khaltoro late in the afternoon, you can set up camp or stay at a local guesthouse, allowing you time to relax and enjoy the surroundings.

After landing in Gilgit, you can spend the afternoon visiting local landmarks including the Gilgit Suspension Bridge and the old Buddha carvings at Kargah. After a day of relaxation and touring, check into your hotel for an overnight stay and eat local food for dinner.

On your final day, have a hearty breakfast before leaving Gilgit for Islamabad. The return ride brings you back via the stunning Karakoram Highway, with the option of stopping for lunch in Besham.
