This gorgeous journey will take you via Abbottabad, Mansehra, and Besham. The route follows the huge Indus River as it ascends to the mountainous region of Gilgit-Baltistan. After about 12-14 hours of driving, you'll arrive at the lovely Hunza Valley, known for its breathtaking scenery and welcoming people. When you arrive in Hunza, you will check into your hotel in Karimabad for some much-needed rest following the long but rewarding adventure. Stay at Hunza overnight.

On this Day

Today is spent discovering the historical and cultural treasures of Hunza Valley. After breakfast, you'll pay a visit to the Baltit Fort, a 700-year-old architectural wonder towering above Karimabad. The fort provides panoramic views of the valley and the adjacent snow-capped peaks, which include Rakaposhi and Ultar Sar. From there, visit Altit Fort, another old fort that dates back over 900 years and provides insight into the region's rich past. Afterward, drive up to Eagle's Nest, a high viewpoint that offers one of the best views of the valley and its towering peaks. In the afternoon, visit the local Hunza Bazaar to buy traditional handicrafts, dried fruits, and Hunza's famed apricot items. The evening will be spent indulging in local culture and cuisine before retiring to your accommodation.

After an early breakfast, you will take a short journey to Attabad Lake, a stunning blue lake formed by a landslide in 2010. The Baskochi Meadows Trek begins at Tunnel No. 2, located along the lake. The rise is very straightforward, leading you past beautiful green meadows and steep terrain. Baskochi Point, which offers amazing panoramic views of Attabad Lake below and the beautiful Passu Cones in the distance, may be reached after around 1-2 hours of climbing, depending on your pace. The tranquility and beauty of this location make it ideal for relaxation, photography, and taking in the spectacular natural surroundings. After exploring the viewpoint, you will return to Sishkat Village and drive back to Karimabad for the night.
