Allama Iqbal International Airport is one of the country’s busiest international airports, serving millions of passengers and thousands of tonnes of cargo each year. Currently, the airport has three terminals: the Allama Iqbal terminal (for domestic/international flights), the Hajj terminal (for Hujjaj arrival/departure), and a cargo facility.
The airport covers 1,364 acres of land. The facility includes the terminal complex (Allama Iqbal terminal), which was completed in the 2000s, the old terminal building (Hajj terminal), and two lounges: the state lounge (CIP lounge) and the Hajj lounge. There are also two runways and enough parking space for approximately 22 aircraft. The runway at the airport is broad enough to accommodate airplanes as large as the Boeing 747.
